Today, DMFI PAC, the political voice of pro-Israel Democrats, applauded New Mexico’s Third Congressional District for rejecting Valerie Plame’s candidacy and congratulated two more of its endorsed candidates — House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD-05) and Representative Kweisi Mfume (MD-07) on their primary victories. DMFI PAC Chairman Mark Mellman issued the following statement:

“We applaud the decision of voters in New Mexico’s Third Congressional District who opted against sending Valerie Plame to Congress.

“DMFI PAC ran an extensive digital ad campaign in the district raising concern about what Plame later admitted was ‘white supremacist and anti-Semitic propaganda’ she spread on twitter over several years.

“At a time when our country urgently needs to come together to work towards a more inclusive and just society, we don’t need another elected official in Washington who tweets hate.

“Today we are celebrating the primary victories of two Democratic leaders who are committed to fighting for equality, inclusivity and a strong U.S.-Israel relationship — Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD-05) and Rep. Kweisi Mfume (MD-07).

“As DMFI PAC-endorsed candidates continue to rack up victories, it’s becoming increasingly clear that supporting a strong U.S.-Israel alliance is both wise policy and smart politics.”

DMFI PAC is now six-for-six having previously endorsed Rep. Joyce Beatty (OH-03), Kathy Manning (NC-06), Rep. Henry Cuellar (TX-28) and Rep. Kweisi Mfume in his special election.
