Building on a successful primary season during which DMFI PAC helped pro-Israel Democrats win 87% of the races where it endorsed, DMFI PAC today announced its first slate of endorsements for the 2022 General Election cycle. These 55 distinguished candidates are a diverse group of challengers and incumbents running for the House and Senate in vital races across the country who are all deeply committed to the Democratic agenda — including a strong U.S.-Israel alliance.

“Midterm elections are historically tough for the party in power, and we’re planning to do everything we can to help maintain Democratic majorities in the House and Senate by supporting these pro-Israel champions in November,” said DMFI PAC Chairman Mark Mellman. “The candidates endorsed today in DMFI PAC’s very first wave of 2022 General Election endorsements are outstanding leaders who have consistently demonstrated a steadfast commitment to our Democratic values, including strengthening the United States’ alliance with Israel. What’s more, our primary record has made clear that supporting a strong U.S.-Israel relationship is good politics, in addition to being wise policy,” added Mellman.

“I am honored to earn the endorsement of DMFI PAC,” said Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (GA). “My support for Israel and commitment to strengthening our U.S.-Israel alliance is unwavering and I look forward to continuing to work alongside DMFI PAC to honor our nation’s commitments and protect the security of one of America’s closest allies.”

“I am so grateful for the endorsement of DMFI PAC. Our democracy is under constant threat and I am proud to partner with an organization focused on advancing Democratic values and strengthening the U.S.-Israel bond,” said Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman, Representative Joyce Beatty (OH-03).

Nevada Senator Catherine Cortez Masto added, “Israel is an important ally, and its protection is critical to our national security. I am grateful for the support of DMFI PAC, and I will always be an advocate for Israel’s safety and security.”

28 of today’s endorsees are running in competitive races that will help determine whether Democrats retain control of the House and Senate in November. In addition to Sen. Rev. Raphael Warnock and Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, DMFI PAC is endorsing Rep. Tim Ryan (OH) and Lt. Gov. John Fetterman (PA) (first endorsed when he won his primary on May 17th) for U.S. Senate — two candidates fighting to help Democrats pick up crucial Senate seats currently held by Republicans. In the House, DMFI PAC is endorsing pro-Israel champion and January 6th House Select Committee member Elaine Luria (VA-02), as well as Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04), Assemblyman Rudy Salas (CA-22), who is attempting to unseat Republican Congressman David Valadao, and former California state assemblywoman Christy Smith (CA-27), who is challenging Republican Rep. Mike Garcia.

DMFI PAC endorses Democratic candidates for federal office who reflect the diversity of our country, work to advance the Biden-Harris agenda, and support a strong U.S.-Israel relationship. In the 2022 primary election season, more than 74% of the PAC’s independent expenditures have helped candidates of color.

Since its inception, DMFI PAC has played a vital role in supporting pro-Israel Democrats, backing President Biden, as well as victors in 83 House and Senate races in the 2020 cycle.

Today’s endorsees include pro-Israel Democrats who’ve had their primaries this cycle. Additional endorsements will follow. A full list of DMFI PAC endorsees is available here.
