The list includes candidates in highly contested Senate and House races that will decide congressional majorities
Following a successful primary season in which 100 of the 102 pro-Israel Democrats DMFI PAC endorsed in primaries won their races, the PAC today announced additional endorsements for the 2024 General Election cycle.
This diverse group features Democratic candidates committed to strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship, including two Senate candidates in majority-deciding races in Arizona and Maryland, as well as nearly a dozen candidates in the DCCC’s top-tier Red to Blue program.
“Democrats have the momentum to take back the majority from extreme MAGA Republicans in the House and to hold our majority in the Senate, and we’re thrilled to support 14 pro-Israel Democrats whose races will decide control of those bodies,” said DMFI PAC Chairman Mark Mellman. “After a convention where Democrats stood with Israel, the hostages, and their families and where anti-Israel protests fizzled — and following a primary season in which DMFI PAC helped oust two anti-Israel Squad members — it’s clear that being pro-Israel is not just wise policy, but it’s also smart politics.”
“We look forward to helping this stellar group of pro-Israel Democrats, and all of this cycle’s prior endorsees, defeat their Republican opponents in November,” added Mellman.
“As a Marine who has been to war, I take the threats to Israel posed by violent extremists and terrorist organizations very seriously. That’s why I’ve always stood behind our democratic ally and its right to defend itself,” said Arizona Senate candidate Rep. Ruben Gallego. “I look forward to continuing to partner with DMFI PAC to fight antisemitism here in Arizona, ensure Israel has the security resources it needs to keep its people safe, and continue to work towards a permanent two-state solution. I’m honored to have received DMFI PAC’s endorsement.”
“I am honored to have the endorsement of DMFI PAC,” said Maryland Senate candidate Angela Alsobrooks. “In the United States Senate, I am committed to protecting and strengthening the strong relationship between the United States and Israel — one built on shared values of peace and democracy. Together, we will fight for a brighter future.”
Included in DMFI PAC’s endorsements today are Senate candidates Congressman Ruben Gallego (AZ-03) in Arizona and County Executive Angela Alsobrooks in Maryland; Delaware State Senator Sarah McBride (DE-AL), who would be the first transgender member of Congress; former Michigan State Senator Curtis Hertel Jr. (MI-07), who is running to replace Senate candidate Rep. Elissa Slotkin in an R+2 district; and Michigan State Senator Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), who is running to replace retiring Congressman Dan Kildee in an R+1 district.
