Following Glenn Ivey’s primary victory in Maryland’s 4th Congressional District, DMFI PAC Chairman Mark Mellman released the following statement:

“We’re pleased that Democratic voters in Maryland’s 4th District yesterday chose to look forward by electing a proud progressive pro-Israel African American leader with extensive experience on Capitol Hill and in local government, Glenn Ivey. DMFI PAC is proud to have endorsed Glenn’s campaign and undertaken an extensive independent expenditure on his behalf. His victory underscores a recurring theme this primary season: being pro-Israel is not just wise policy — it’s good politics.”

Over 70% of DMFI PAC’s independent expenditure spending this cycle has supported candidates of color, including Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) and nominees Valerie Foushee (NC-04) and Sydney Kamlager (CA-37).

“We also congratulate Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD-05) on advancing to the general election in November,” Mellman said. “His experience, leadership, and effectiveness at building consensus is central to advancing the Democratic agenda in Congress, including strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship.

“Finally, DMFI PAC congratulates Rep. David Trone on his primary election victory in Maryland’s 6th Congressional District,” Mellman added. “Rep. Trone is a proud pro-Israel champion, and we look forward to supporting his general election campaign this fall.”

In MD-04, DMFI PAC supported Glenn Ivey with positive television ads highlighting his commitment to improving the lives of working families. DMFI PAC also ran digital ads touting his endorsement by the Washington Post.

DMFI PAC has played a vital role in supporting pro-Israel Democrats since its inception, backing President Biden, as well as victors in 83 House and Senate races last cycle.
