DMFI PAC is running digital advertisements to support Amo

Today, DMFI PAC announced its endorsement of pro-Israel Democrat Gabe Amo in Rhode Island’s 1st Congressional District’s Special Election as well as an Independent Expenditure campaign to help ensure his victory.

“We are thrilled to endorse Gabe Amo, a proud pro-Israel, Millennial Democrat, for Congress,” said DMFI PAC Chairman Mark Mellman. “Like too many Americans, Gabe knows what it’s like to grow up in a family struggling to get by. As the child of immigrants from Ghana and Liberia who went on to become a principal advisor to now-Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and a Special Assistant to President Joe Biden. Gabe has the experience he needs to hit the ground running in Congress as he advocates for the needs and values of his constituents.

“We also deeply appreciate Mr. Amo’s statements of solidarity and support for Israel in the wake of Hamas’ barbaric attacks on October 7th,” added Mellman.

“The historic relationship between Israel and the United States is vital to the security of both the United States and the Middle East,” said Gabe Amo. “I am grateful for DMFI PAC’s support in my campaign to be Rhode Island’s next member of Congress!”

On October 7th, Amo expressed his sympathy with Israel and committed to “stand in firm support of Israel and their security” if elected to Congress. He also praised President Biden’s response to the attacks and reiterated his call to “defend democracy around the globe by standing with Ukraine and Israel.”

If elected, Gabe Amo will be the first person of color to represent Rhode Island in Congress.

During the 2022 Midterm Election, DMFI PAC helped bring 21 brand-new pro-Israel Democrats to the 118th Congress — with over 80% of its endorsed candidates winning their races — and helped defeat anti-Israel candidates. Some 77% of the PAC’s spending supported candidates of color. Visit dmfipac.org to learn more about our work and endorsees.
