The Reed Awards recognize “excellence in political campaigning, grassroots and advocacy”

Last night, DMFI PAC was recognized with a Reed Award for “Best Bare-Knuckled Street Fight Victory” for its efforts to boost now-Congresswoman Shontel Brown’s campaign in the August 2021 special primary election. With DMFI PAC support, Brown overcame a 35-point deficit to defeat Nina Turner in the high-profile Democratic primary. DMFI PAC’s efforts in this race played a substantial role in educating voters and building momentum for Shontel Brown. DMFI PAC’s multifaceted campaign used television, digital, mail, phones, and other tools, through election day. The experts in those fields shared the award with DMFI PAC.

“We’re thrilled to be recognized for our work to support now-Congresswoman Brown’s successful primary campaign. In just five months, she has proven to be a tenacious advocate for the people of her district and a fierce fighter for the Democratic agenda and our party’s values,” said DMFI PAC Chairman Mark Mellman.

“Our successful Independent Expenditure campaign would not have been possible without the hard work and sharp political instincts of our entire team, made up of our talented staff, our grassroots organizers, and our expert political partners,” he added.

DMFI PAC played a vital role in supporting pro-Israel Democrats since its inception, backing winners in the contest for president — as well as victories in 83 House and Senate races. To date, DMFI PAC primary endorsees have now won 31 of 32 primary elections in which it was involved.

Every year, the Reeds recognize the most exceptional work in campaigning from the preceding year. The 2022 Reed Award winners were honored at a ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee on May 5, 2022.
