DMFI PAC endorsed Councilwoman Shontel Brown in February 2021. Her opponent, Nina Turner, began with higher name ID and was able to capitalize on that with early money to build her lead in the polls to 35 points at its height. That lead collapsed after DMFI PAC launched an independent expenditure and helped narrow the spending gap between the two candidates by 2/3rds. We used mail, digital, and print advertising to help Shontel Brown overtake Turner and win the primary election.
