WASHINGTON, DC (December 17, 2021) – DMFI PAC today urged all PACs that identify as pro-Israel to join them in pledging not to support candidates who opposed funding the life-saving Iron Dome missile defense system. In May, Iron Dome saved at least tens of thousands of civilian lives—Jewish and Arab alike—by preventing the majority of the 4,000+ rockets fired by Hamas from landing on Israeli schools, parks, hospitals and more.

“No organization that calls itself ‘pro-Israel’ can justify supporting candidates who voted against replenishing life-saving Iron Dome batteries that were depleted after the rocket barrage launched by Hamas in the spring. Iron Dome has one job: to stop incoming terrorist rockets targeting Jewish and Arab civilians,” said DMFI PAC Chairman Mark Mellman. “We urge all organizations that call themselves pro-Israel to embrace this moral imperative and join us in taking the ‘Iron Dome Pledge.’”

DMFI PAC Chairman Mark Mellman also made clear that the PAC will not back any candidates who supported or enabled the January 6th insurrection at the Capitol Building or promulgated the “Big Lie.” Nor will it back candidates who are working to take away the freedom to vote. More broadly, DMFI PAC pledges not to endorse Republican candidates for office. It never has and never will.
