The win comes after DMFI PAC endorsed von Wilpert in February and mounted a two-million-dollar independent expenditure to expose Ammar Campa-Najjar’s contradictions
DMFI PAC today celebrated the victory of Marni von Wilpert in California’s 48th Congressional District. DMFI PAC was one of the first national organizations to endorse von Wilpert, announcing its support on February 24, 2026, as part of the rollout for the DMFI PAC Majority Project which is dedicated to electing pro-Israel Democratic candidates and help win the House majority. The PAC reinforced that endorsement with a seven-figure independent expenditure effort.
“The road to a Democratic House runs through California. Through DMFI PAC’s Majority Project, we are investing in critical battleground races across the state. We’re proud to have helped Marni von Wilpert advance to the general election. She’s a strong, pro-Israel candidate who can win a tough general election with the credibility to actually deliver. No one else is doing that work at this scale — and we believe it will be the difference between a pro-Israel Democratic majority and another two years in the minority,” said DMFI PAC President Brian Romick. “Congratulations to Marni, and to all our DMFI PAC endorsed candidates who won hard-earned victories in their races this week, and to the Democratic voters in their districts for taking a firm stance.”
This victory builds on last week’s win in another critical battleground for Democrats – Texas’s 35th Congressional District – where, as part of the DMFI PAC Majority Project, DMFI PAC endorsed Johnny Garcia and sounded the alarm in March on Maureen Galindo’s repulsive antisemitism. DMFI PAC ran a six-figure independent expenditure to support Garcia. DMFI PAC is monitoring the results in CA-22 where the results are still too close to call.
About DMFI PAC’s work in CA-48
In California’s 48th Congressional District, DMFI PAC endorsed Marni von Wilpert and delivered a seven-figure investment in this race. DMFI PAC ran “Say Anything” on broadcast, cable, and digital to call out Ammar Campa-Najjar’s pattern of contradictory positions and his record of flip-flops on Trump, impeachment, and abortion – all of which raised serious questions about his credibility. This ad was seen over 8 million times by voters in CA-48. Before DMFI PAC’s investment, internal polling had von Wilpert down to Campa-Najjar. These ads moved the race by 10 points, quickly putting Marni ahead and helping her gain momentum to an eventual victory on primary day.
About DMFI PAC’s Majority Project
DMFI PAC’s Majority Project focuses on electing Democrats who stand with Israel as a democratic ally, are committed to confronting antisemitism and extremism, and recognize the U.S.-Israel relationship as a vital national security partnership — while remaining squarely focused on winning elections. With control of the House expected to hinge on a small number of races, it is essential that Democrats nominate candidates who can both win in November and govern effectively.
